    End of Week 3

    (Andrea)

These last three weeks have flown by. I can't believe how much better I feel already and I can't imagine what losing another 40 pounds will do.  We have started planning the details for our big trip this summer...CANCUN!  I am actually getting excited about going to look for a new swim suit (I can't even begin to guess when the last time I said that was...maybe when I was 17?). But before I going shopping, I want to be down at least another 10-15 pounds. Tomorrow is weigh-in day, I am a little nervous about it.  I walked or exercised 5 days this week, but still am not feeling like the number is going to be very big.  Tom keeps reminding me that every pound counts and you have to lose it one pound at a time. Good luck to everyone with their weigh-ins.

    Week 2 Updates!

    (Tom)

Wow, I can't believe it's only been two weeks since we started this. I seems like a lot longer. Not in a bad way, but in a good way. More like when we were kids and we still have the whole summer left. We have been doing very well. Andrea lost 2 pounds and I lost 4 pounds....I'm still behind her in totals though. She has lost a total of 10 lbs. and I'm draging behind with 8 lbs. I don't want to be a "Neill' so I'm going to have to kick it in gear. Speaking of Neill, that was a no brainer on last nights show. It seemed like he didn't really want to be there.  She did. I felt really bad for her. She wanted to be there and worked her butt off. Even when they went home, she almost lost as much as he did. Usually the guy loses a lot more than the woman. So the new catch phrase is "Don't be a Neill" !!!
Hang in there everyone....you're doing great....remember one pound at a time.Wink

    Well I did it!

I went out walking! Can you believe it?!? I know we started this thing a week ago but I had to build up to the exercise part. The funny thing is that I don't mind walking at all. I could do it in my sleep. When I was in grade school, I use to walk back and forth to school, which ended up being about 4 miles a day (yeah, it was uphill both ways and in ten feet of snow. LOL, just kidding about that part). But I figured I would add the exercise part after I got the eating healthier part down.
I also did 10 minutes on the Nordic Trac. I was going to do 20 minutes but I'm too out of shape.
I've been reading other people's blogs today and came across some that made me understand why this time it's different for me. They talked about how much they wanted and needed to lose weigth but there is always an excuse not to. We can always have excuses but when we've had enough, you will get the strength to finally say enough. I realized that there are no more excuses for me. Things have changed. When you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, you've had enough. This isn't a diet, it's a change in my life. I want to be healthier, more active, and thinner. The biggest loser couples million pound challenge is helping us stay motived and on track with all of the encouragement from everyone doing the challenge, our new friends! Keep at it, one pound at a time!

    One week down

     I This is Tom:
Well it's been one week since we started the Biggest Loser's Million Pound Challenge and what a long week it's been!
I am so proud of Andrea, she has done very well. She lost 8 pounds this week. She has been working hard all week, eating healthier, watching her calories and exercising. She is 100% into this. I, on the other hand, haven't been doing as well. I lost 4 pounds this week but could have lost a lot more. I have been watching what I've been eating, counting the calories and eating healthier. But I haven't been exercising or walking. I've been trying to concentrate on eating a better diet and then adding excersise as I go, but is that just an excuse for me not to exercise. I'm not sure. I'm going to add exercise tomorrow, the first day of our 2nd week. Hopefully I'll do it. I'll have to blog about it tomorrow.
    Good luck to everyone!
And will someone please leave us a comment, we're getting a little bummed that no one has left us a message.Open-mouthedthanks!!!

    The First Week

The first week is coming to an end!  We have done pretty well with sticking to our calories every day.  We had a little bit of a challenge today...we went to Olive Garden.  Normally, we would eat several bread sticks, the salad, and then finish our dinner.  This time we had to stick to our calorie count...so only one bread stick (140 Calorie), the salad (estimated to be around 200 calories because of the dressing), and only half of a healthy choice option (about 350 calories).  It was still most of our calories for the day but we worked the rest of the day around it.  We have also been sticking to our walking or exercising every day. So far, so good!  I am sure there are still some things that we can do differently that will help us lose weight, but for the first week I think we are doing great!

I (Andrea) got on the scale this morning, just to see how I was doing, and I was down several pounds!!!  I am very excited.  I can't wait til Tuesday for the actual weigh in.

    Our Story

We have been watching Biggest Loser for several seasons and wanted to join in.  Starting a biggest loser online is such a great idea.  It will allow all of us at home to actively participate in the program and encourage each other as we go.

Tom and I plan to keep each other motivated and on track so that we will lose all of our "extra" pounds. We want to change our eating and exercising habits because we want to live a healthier, more active life.

Winning the prize at the end would be great but the ultimate prize will be losing the weight and changing our lives forever.  Good luck to all!
